The Sentry E. Labs Electric fail-safe drop bolt lock is designed to be recessed into the door. This drop bolt lock also has a built in time relay, that will keep the bolt in the unlocked position so the door can be opened. On a single swing door, the lock can be recessed into the handle side, top, or bottom side of the door. Dual swing and sliding doors, the drop blot look can be recessed into either the top or bottom of the doors.

This drop bolt lock can be powered by 12v DC power source up to a 24v DC power source.

The fail-safe design of this lock ensure that in the event of a powerless people will not get trapped within a building. Fail-safe designs use a normally open dry contact, that when powered will extend the lock to the locked position. To activate the lock you can choose from these multiple accessories:

These accessories will help control access to the door and multiple accessories can be used per door. However to use multiple accessories you must wire them in series. These access control devices can activate multiple locks.

On the strike plate of the lock kit there is a built in magnet that communicates with a sensor placed in the drop bolt lock body. This magnetic sensor is used to determine if the bolt is currently engaged or disengaged. When the sensor in the lock body looses contact with the magnet in the strike plate, the lock bolt will stay in the unlock position until it senses the magnet again.

The Sentry E. Labs fail-safe drop bolt lock only uses power in the locked position. When there is a loss of power or an interruption of power from a device, such as a keypad the drop bolt will retract. The drop bolt has a built in time relay that is used to hold the bolt in the unlocked position so the door can be opened, once opened the bolt will remain retracted. The timer can be set to either: 0, 2.5, 5, or 8 seconds of time delay.
